Appellation Côtes du Rhône Villages Puyméras contrôlée
Cellier des Dauphins
26790 Tulette (Drôme)

Tasted February 21st, 2017.

Dark forest fruits, a good deal of spices, tannins – hey, do I get some coffee here ? – a little burnt taste (must be the Syrah) and a nice bit of cherry-ish aroma’s. Good balance, nice length.

Sampled with sautéed Brussels Sprouts, with mushrooms, potatoes and fried bacon – Winter fare.

The Côtes du Rhône Villages offer a good deal in variety, from fresh and fruity easy drinks to the more rustic and tannic fare. Thanks to the different locations and blends possible, it is hard to know what one gets before actual tasting. This is an assemblage of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan that does the job pretty well.
