Couteaux du Lyonnais
69420 Ampuis (Rhône)
Tasted October 12th, 2016
Knowing its origins (the borderlands between the Beaujolais and the northern Rhône hillsides) it is no surprise the strength is a good 13%. But let that not fool you: this is a festival of rich, deep floral taste, thanks to a meticulous upbringing of the Gamay in true ‘vin nature’ -style. It is as good as a ‘vieilles vignes’ Beaujolais, if not better.
Accompanied by a simple dish of potatoes, beans and pork. Vive la campagne !
